Don Manuel, Production Manager, plays a critical role in bringing Outdoor Spaces designs to life in the field. With decades of experience in the landscaping industry and a deep understanding of jobsite coordination, Don ensures that projects move smoothly from planning through installation.

A Northern Virginia native, Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management from George Mason University. He has worked in the landscaping industry since the early 1990s and joined Outdoor Spaces as Production Manager in 2018. His long-standing industry experience allows him to anticipate challenges, support field crews, and keep complex projects running efficiently.

In his role, Don oversees multiple crews across active jobsites, often managing five to ten crews performing different functions on any given day. He serves as a key connection point between clients, designers, and installers, ensuring that everyone has the information they need to execute the work accurately. His responsibilities include jobsite planning and coordination, marking utilities, determining access points, coordinating deliveries, and overseeing inspections to keep projects on track and compliant.

Don values clear communication and spends time both on-site and in direct contact with clients throughout the build process. By developing strong relationships and staying accessible, he helps create a collaborative environment that supports problem-solving and delivers a final result clients can feel confident about.

What Don enjoys most is the balance his role provides. No two days are the same, and the mix of office coordination and field work keeps the work engaging. He also takes pride in working alongside skilled craftsmen and appreciates being outdoors for much of the day.

Outside of work, Don enjoys spending time with his family, often at the ice rink watching his boys play ice hockey. When he’s not outdoors or traveling, he’s a self-proclaimed metalhead who loves attending live concerts.
