Evan Clower, Owner, Manager and Designer, brings a strong balance of creative design thinking, technical construction knowledge, and hands-on leadership to Outdoor Spaces. With a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University, Evan combines formal design training with real-world experience to guide projects from concept through completion.

Evan’s entrepreneurial mindset and interest in construction began early. As a high school student in West Virginia, he worked alongside professionals in the property management and construction industries, where he developed a deep understanding of building materials, construction methods, and job site coordination. That early exposure laid the groundwork for a career rooted in both design and execution.

After graduating, Evan moved to Northern Virginia to further expand his experience in the landscape and construction field. In 2009, he co-founded Outdoor Spaces with Erik Moden. Today, Evan oversees both the design and production sides of the business, with a particular focus on ensuring a seamless transition from the design team to the production team. He works closely with staff and field crews to make sure design intent is clearly communicated and executed with precision.

Evan is deeply involved in daily operations and is committed to maintaining high standards across every project. He values clear communication, thoughtful problem-solving, and a client-first approach, regularly meeting with homeowners throughout the process to ensure they feel informed, confident, and supported from start to finish.

What Evan enjoys most is watching a project evolve from an idea on paper into a fully realized outdoor environment. He is equally passionate about the creative side of design and the technical challenges of construction, and he appreciates the balance his role provides between office collaboration and time spent on active job sites.

Outside of work, Evan lives in Warrenton, Virginia with his wife, two daughters, and their pets. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and farming. Farming, in particular, has become an important part of his family’s life, teaching responsibility and connection through caring for something beyond themselves.
